Osmia 8 · 10

Reviewed Jun 21, 2026

Doctor-founded bar soaps, still owned by the woman who made them.

Why We Trust This Brand

Osmia is still owned and run by its founder, Dr. Sarah Villafranco, with no corporate parent and no outside investors. That kind of control is rare, and it means nobody is pushing the brand to cut corners on ingredients to hit a sales number. The bars are made in small batches in Colorado.

Ingredients & Safety

The soaps are built on organic plant oils and butters like olive oil, coconut milk, mango and shea butter, jojoba, and avocado oil, with activated charcoal and black clay in the detox bars. There are no parabens, phthalates, sulfates, or synthetic fragrances.

Ownership & Independence

Osmia was founded in 2012 by Dr. Sarah Villafranco, a former emergency-medicine physician, and is based in Carbondale, Colorado. Company profiles show no acquisitions, no parent company, and no equity funding raised. Villafranco remains founder and CEO. The recent name change from Osmia Organics to Osmia Skincare was a name change only, not a sale.
