Saie

Founder-controlled clean makeup for sensitive skin — glowy, skincare-grade, and profitable.

Lawsuit · 2022 · dismissed

Finster v. Sephora — “Clean at Sephora” false-advertising suit (dismissed)

A class action against Sephora over its “Clean at Sephora” seal cited Saie’s Mascara 101 as an example of a product containing synthetic ingredients. It was dismissed on March 15, 2024. Saie itself was NOT a defendant — Sephora was; Saie was named only as an example. Dismissed: the court held that no reasonable consumer would read the “Clean at Sephora” seal as a promise that a product is free of all synthetic ingredients — only that it omits a specific listed set.

Our take

Why We Trust This Brand

Leaping Bunny plus Climate Neutral plus Plastic Negative is a genuinely stacked third-party record; the line is fragrance- and essential-oil-free for reactive skin; the founder retains control and the company is profitable, so independence is not propped up by burn rate.
