Carina Organics has been family-owned since 1972 with no funding rounds and no acquisition on record, so the independence is about as long-standing as it gets. The formulas are genuinely simple and sulfate-free with no parabens, synthetic preservatives, or dyes, and they carry CertClean certification. The only reason it is a 9 and not a 10 is that the "organic" claim is largely at the grower level rather than a finished-product organic certification.
