Why We Trust This Brand
Ownership independence is about as clean as it gets: a self-funded family business with no outside capital on record. Ingredients are mineral-only (non-nano zinc, no chemical filters) with Leaping Bunny and vegan credentials. The one caveat is fragrance: the body SPF 50 is fragrance-free, but the face SPF 50 has a light coconut-vanilla scent and the older SPF 20 and tinted formulas use cypress and phototoxic pink-grapefruit essential oils, which sensitive users should note.

Barrier Protection Mineral Body SPF 50 is fragrance-free with about 15% non-nano zinc oxide; the Face SPF 50 uses roughly 16% non-nano zinc plus Ceramide NP and squalane but carries a light coconut/vanilla scent. No avobenzone, oxybenzone or octinoxate anywhere. Older Facial SPF 20 and tinted formulas contain cypress and pink-grapefruit essential oils.
